We Declare

I mentioned briefly yesterday that the word Declare is defined by Webster as: to announce officially; proclaim; to state emphatically; to make known or state clearly, especially in explicit or formal terms.  For example: to declare one's position in a controversy.  What an appropriate example Webster provided for us.  But what is the controversy?  The enemy trying to convince us that we are not who God says we are; that we will never have what God says we will have and/or that we will always be bound by (you fill in the blank).  John 8:36 (NLT) says: So if the Son sets you free, you are truly free.
Stating your declaration(s) opens the door for victory. Victory (Webster) a success or triumph over an enemy in battle or war.

It takes faith, courage and strength to declare (proclaim, state emphatically; make known or state clearly) that you are (not will be) the opposite of what your circumstances "try" to say you are, be they self-inflicted or caused by others, there is a divine purpose in them.  And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.  Romans 8:28 (NLT)

Whose purpose?  God’s purpose.  If we allow God to intervene on our behalf, He will take the situation(s) – (“All Things”) – and turn it/them into triumph (victory) but only for those who truly love God.  We are very clear by now that those who love God keep his commandments consistently.  John 14:15  Why would God turn our drama into victory? For several reasons: 1) Because the battle really isn’t ours at all, it belongs to God.  To keep it simple, the enemy cannot fight God, so he fights us to get back at God.  The irony is that God has already decided the outcome and we win every single fight, temptation, trial, challenge, etc. every cotton picking time if we will fully submit and obey; 2) it establishes our faith and confidence in God -- 1 Peter 5:10 (NLT)  In his kindness God called you to share in his eternal glory by means of Christ Jesus. So after you have suffered a little while, he will restore, support, and strengthen you, and he will place you on a firm foundation; 3) we are living proof to others that God will fight for us -- Matthew 5:16 (NLT) In the same way, let your good deeds shine out for all to see, so that everyone will praise your heavenly Father.

We don’t just win, we are not just winners, we are more than conquerors:

  • Webster defines conquer as:  to acquire by force of arms; win in war; to overcome by force; subdue; to gain, win, or obtain by effort, personal appeal, etc.; to gain a victory over; surmount; master.

Can anything ever separate us from Christ’s love? Does it mean he no longer loves us if we have trouble or calamity, or are persecuted, or hungry, or destitute, or in danger, or threatened with death?   No, despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us. Romans 8:35, 37 (NLT)

Let’s be clear, we don’t ask the devil to give us back our stuff.  "Um, excuse me, Mr. Devil, I hate to bother you, I know you're busy accusing, lying on and bombarding me with thoughts of depression, oppression, suicide, defeat, low self-esteem, etc. but I was wondering if I could please, sir ask you a "kwerston".  Do you think, if it's not too much "trubba" sir and only if you are finished with it, that you could please give me my stuff back, please (e.g. marriage, children, families, relationships, finances, health, peace, etc.)?   Is that how yawl roll from Richmond, Oakland, Washington, Pennsylvania or wherever you're from?  When somebody took something that belonged to you, your friend, your enemy, especially if they "was" from a different "set" did you just let it go?  Or did you and your crew walk or roll deep and go get yo' stuff?  Yeah, I thought so.  So why you wanna come over here to "the other side" (salvation) and punk out?  Let the devil come up in yo' house literally or your mind and tell you what you can and cannot have, do or be.  Are you kidding me right now?  Are you that weak and simple?  The devil is a liar, father of lies and the truth ain't in him, we reject that passive, wet noodle spirit and send it back to hell where it came from.  We will we take it (our stuff) by force by any means necessary; not in and of our own strength, intelligence or skill, but by the Spirit of God through His son, Jesus Christ.
...Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit, says the Lord of hosts. Zechariah 4:6b (NKJV)  The NLT says .... Lord of Heaven’s Armies.
Victory Thought: If God wasn't at war, why would He have an army?

How do we take it (our stuff) back?  Through fasting, praise, worship, prayer and the element of surprise:

  • Fast: push your plate back and sacrifice your meal(s) as an offering to God and  self discipline.  In your time of fasting from food fast from "things" that you would normally do for entertainment or to pass the time and substitute those things with reading a book like Instinct by TD Jakes, Battlefield of the Mind by Joyce Meyers, The Fire Didn't Burn Us by Tania Alexander; do topical studies on bible characters or subjects you want to improve in -- faith, peace, fasting, spiritual warfare, etc.; limit your conversation, send unnecessary calls to voicemail, answer text messages, in-boxes, etc. after your fast, they will be there waiting for you
    • IF YOU TAKE MEDICINE THAT REQUIRES EATING, eat enough to take the medication and continue the fast, however, if you cannot fast because of medical conditions you can fast from things;
  • Praise: expressing your thankfulness through words and/or singing, listening to gospel music, creating an atmosphere of celebration in anticipation of what you EXPECT God to do on your behalf.  Ephesians 5:19-20 (NLT) singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs among yourselves, and making music to the Lord in your hearts. And give thanks for everything to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ;
  • Worship: As you go through the day tell God how much you love, adore, and appreciate Him, what He has done for you, what He is going to do for you.  Tell him what you're going to do when you get your stuff back, how you will reverence Him and give Him all of the credit, who you will tell, how you will tell it.  If this foreign to you find scriptures about worship in the book of Psalms as a guide:
    • O God, we meditate on your unfailing love as we worship in your Temple. Psalm 48:9 (NLT);
    • Exult in his holy name;rejoice, you who worship the Lord. Psalm 105:3 (NLT)   Exult means to show or feel a lively or triumphant joy; rejoice exceedingly; be highly elated or jubilant

When you run out of words, moan like the mothers used to do in the church -- oh Jesus, Jesus, Jesus; Wonderful Savior; I love you Lord; Help me Jesus; You know Lord; Have your way Lord, Yes Lord, etc.

I'm out of time, we'll continue tomorrow

In His Excellent Service

Tan
